Charles Ryder, BA, M.Arch.
I provide design services to artists, musicians and cultural organisations, specialising in bespoke websites, artists' catalogues, and short films. Projects are designed for cross-platform functionality, ensuring that the work you commission can be used across a wide range of formats and media.
My background is in design for museums and galleries, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Collection and the Frick Collection in New York, and English Heritage, the National Museums & Galleries on Merseyside, and the National Trust in the UK.
I designed the Museum of Islamic Art of the Kuwait National Museum, and Voices of Hellenism, a travelling exhibition featuring antiquities and decorative arts from the Benaki Museum in Athens. In 1999 I advised the architect Zaha Hadid on content for the Mind Pavilion at the Millenium Dome.
While curator of the Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston University London, I established the annual Kingston Contemporary Art Open. I now curate transit station, an international live art touring exhibition. I am visiting lecturer at the University of Portsmouth where I teach on the Museology MA programme.
My fees are in line with current industry standards for custom design work, with price plans tailored to your budget. Please feel free to contact me; I will be happy to discuss your project in detail.
